Port Byron Central School District is pleased to announce that it is being presented the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHAA) School of Excellence Award. This recognition is a testament to the district’s unwavering commitment to providing exceptional education and athletic opportunities for its students, while fostering an environment of academic excellence.

The NYSPHAA School of Excellence award is a symbol of distinction in the state, acknowledging districts that demonstrate outstanding performance and dedication to the achievements of their students. To earn the School of Excellence Award, 75% of a school’s varsity teams must qualify for and receive the Scholar-Athlete team award.

Mike Hermann, Dean of Students and Athletic Coordinator for the district said, “We're proud of our student-athletes and the efforts they put forth individually to excel in their sports and their classrooms.”

“Their efforts have led to some great team recognition, and it reflects well on our entire community,” Hermann said.

The award is the result of the collective efforts of the students, coaches, teachers, parents, and the entire Port Byron community.
